Church School Celebration, June 8, 2008
Church School is offered to children age four through grade eight. The Church School year begins the Sunday following Labor Day until the second Sunday in June. Students may start attending classes anytime during the Church School year.
The church school is organized by grade level with one class for each grade from Pre-Kindergarten to Eighth Grade. Classes are led by volunteers. The Augsburgh Fortress Witness Curriculum offers interactive, age-appropriate lessons on Biblical themes each week.
The following information listed below may answer some questions you may have concerning our Church School.
- Sunday mornings begin with Family Worship in the Sanctuary at 10 AM. Nursery is available for infants through age three every Sunday.
- An announcement will be made during the worship service when students are dismissed to their class. Pre-K through Grade 2 will meet their teachers in Fellowship Hall. Higher grades will go directly to class.
- Dismissal from class is 11:15 AM. Pre-K through Grade 2 will be held in the classrooms until a parent or sibling comes to get the child. Upper grades will be dismissed to Fellowship Hall
Confirmation is a rite of passage in which young people affirm their Christian faith and baptismal promises. Confirmation classes are also held on Sunday mornings for eighth graders. Students in the confirmation class also participate in a Confirmation Retreat, service projects within the church, and discussion groups with the minister.
